FAQ
-
How do you ensure transparency and accountability in your finances?
Mriya Aid Org Inc. undergoes annual independent audits in Canada. We follow Canadian not-for-profit reporting standards and maintain strict internal oversight on all expenditures. -
How are individual donations used ?
100% of individual donations go directly to life-saving equipment and frontline support. Administrative and operational expenses are funded through institutional grants and legacy contributions or securities gifts, so your personal gift goes entirely to urgent aid. -
What is included in “Total Aid Provided” ?
“Total Aid Provided” represents the value of life-saving equipment, training, and in-kind items delivered to Ukraine. It does not include administrative or advocacy expenses, ensuring this number reflects only direct frontline impact. -
How do you value in-kind donations?
Newly purchased items are recorded at fair market value. For used or stockpiled equipment, we apply a conservative valuation of up to 15% of current market value. In-kind donations are not part of our audited financial statements but are reported separately for transparency. -
Where does your funding come from?
Our revenue is a mix of:
- Individual donations from 30+ countries
- Planned, legacy, and securities donations
- Institutional funding (grants and projects) from governments and agencies
Each funding stream is used in line with donor intent, with strict oversight and external audits.
-
Do you issue CRA tax receipts for donations?
No. Mriya Aid is registered in Canada as a not-for-profit, not a charity, and therefore cannot issue charitable tax receipts. This structure allows us to provide direct support to Ukraine’s armed forces and defence agencies—something Canadian charities are not permitted to do under tax law. It also enables us to act quickly and ensure donations are converted directly into life-saving equipment, training, and other urgent support.
